Let the truth be told, on Tuesday.

Gray hair, people.
On. My. Head.

And not just one or two.

Many.
So many that, last night, Dave and I spent about 15 minutes in front of the mirror yanking them out. My husband, 7 years my senior, rejoiced a little bit each time he found a new one. I wanted to punch him. Hard.

I wish I could write that I am the kind of girl who can "grow old gracefully," not only accepting but embracing the gray hair, the laugh lines, the breasts deflated and flappy-in-the-wind thanks to breast feeding and gravity...

But I'm so not.
Rather, I'm fairly freaked out.
I'm considering some color, some botox, a tummy tuck and a lift...

Truth be told? I'm feeling pretty unattractive, on Tuesday.

You are gorgeous (inside and out) Emily... don't you dare think otherwise!!

But, I very much needed a laugh today so THANK YOU.

i could write this blog any day of the week. except i'd never do botox. laugh lines are good. and, if you haven't noticed, all of your sisters, even the youngest, have had gray hairs for years. they're well earned.

Now that I've discovered your blog, I'm really enjoying your posts. I have gray hair too and other signs of getting older, ugh.

I realized I never introduced myself. I live in Rockford with my husband and son, Xavier. We brought X home from Seoul on May 15th. Looks like you were in Seoul one week ahead of us.

Emily, refer back to one of my comments in the past (can't even remember when that was) where I told you (in all honesty and unprompted) that you looked like you were 23 (I think it was). I meant it then and I still do. So you found a few gray hairs? Perhaps, but you have a baby face and you're ADORABLE. :)

Having said that, I so know what that kind of day feels like. NO ONE likes to find a gray hair (or 7).

Ted had gray hairs when we first started dating and he was 25. Now 13 years later--he laughs his backside off when I find one or 2. And that's alot of backside! With 20/20 hindsight, I wish I had a tummy tuck with my hysterectomy last year. Oh well. And I agree with Jessica--yet again!--no botox. I've earned each and every one of them and they show that I've enjoyed my life. Emily, my dear, you are beautiful and original. Why be a Barbie when you can be your own personal Emily???

You are not unattractive Emily! You are gorgeous - have you not looked in the mirror?! As for grey, I've been dying my hair for over 15 years to cover - and I'm only turning 33 (tomorrow :( ). Right now I really look like a skunk with all the white... A skunk with h1n1 - just imagine...

Emily...sorry you're having one of those days. You are cute as a button though...seriously!

If it makes you feel any better I started getting gray hairs when I was 13...I'm not kidding. That's what a good colorist is for...she's my secret weapon. ;)

I think I do have the most gray hair of all of us girls, and Paul definitely has more than the men! I have been contemplating coloring for a long time now. But as long as I part my hair the same way everyday it hides most of them. And Paul says he doesn't notice. So I'll put it off a little bit longer.

um. you are one hot mama. with no time for counting greys. count those babies! no really, make sure they are all there. i know I'd be counting heads all day long if i had three. well earned is right, jessica! :)

Jeez, you compliment-fisher! ;)
Totally kidding. You know you look fantastic. And HELLO - training for a marathon?! You can kick any 20-year-old's patookus.
And I'm with Krista - I've been dying my hair for eons. Maybe I'm scared of what I'll really find.
You're not alone - I fear, with every fiber of my being, getting old.
PS - my bro is a plastic surgeon. Maybe I can get you a good deal ;)

At least you can still pluck your grays...mine have grown in number so much that I'm seriously thinking it is time for me to get it colored. Sigh. I was hoping to hold that off for as long as possible. At least I made ALMOST to 40. This year (39) they've REALLY been showing up more and more...doggone grays! My husband also thinks it is kind of funny...he has had grays for years.

Ummm. I feel like I turned 30, got sun spots and grey hairs all on the same day. Every year it gets worse. :) I bleach my sunspots and pluck the hairs. I think my husband secretly thinks my grey's are funny too. I try and focus on being in good shape and YOU are too! Think of how many people are as in as good of shape as you are. You ran 10 miles last week! That's awesome!!!!!

We ARE kindred spririts!

Colored hair & plucked greys -CHECK

BOTOX - I disagree with all your friends about botox - it's TOTALLY worth it and I swear by it! I'm all for laugh lines, just not nasty crevices etched into my face b/c of too much grimacing.

after baby boob job & tummy tuck - already scheduled! Well...mentally scheduled. Once I get the funds - I'm SO there!

You look great girlfriend!!

Maybe we can get a 2-for-1 deal. I haven't even had kids and am ready! I'm thinking they can take my chubby cheeks and put them in my boobs...Ah, vanity!
