Oh, whoa. Ummm...that has me laughing and afraid of my future. Baby D has not figured out how to feed himself anything but a few finger foods. Looking at these photos...I'm not sure I'll ever encourage anything more. I'm not sure I or my house is ready for THAT! :-) Rubin: You look SOOOOO pleased with your accomplishment. Rock on!

Oh, Rubin...the food goes in your mouth...not everywhere but your mouth! Ha! He's so darn proud of himself though!

e~ fire hose isn't strong enough. we actually use a bleach dip. :)

and, j~ if i didn't have a husband who works 2nd shift AND 2 other boys to feed at the same time, i would be sitting next to rubin spoon feeding him every. last. morsel. but, around here, if he wants to eat he needs to do it himself!!! hold out as long as you can! my kitchen is usually a disaster. :)

Rubin, you gave me ONE BIG SMILE, Buddy.

I thought Josiah's spaghetti face/tray/lap were a mess tonight...I was SO wrong. You beat him out hands down!

Hee, hee! That's awesome! X will not be seeing this...I don't want him to get ideas.

Awwww... Well looking beyond the mess (I recommend a great sulfur dip we put M16s into..you can have Dave hook you up) this boy is just cute as cute can be. LOVE the teeth. And yes, what a MESS!

OH.MY.GOSH. That last picture is CLASSIC.

And I'm completely with you - with SImon, I actually had a conversation with our pediatrician about my desire to hold off introducing the concept of self-feeding b/c I was totally uninterested in the associated mess. She thought it was some important developmental milestone and I stupidly obliged. '

Thanks for the smile. PS - big 1/2 is tomorrow. Send me happy running thoughts!
