I've been trying to figure out what our family will call the 6th and 7th of May every year, the anniversary of the days I took Rubin into our family and brought him home to his Papa and his brothers forever...
A lot of families call the day they are united with their adopted child "adoption day," "forever family" or "gotcha day."
neither of these feel quite right to me...
neither of these feel quite right to me...
When I was in Korea, I wrote about how Rubin was the final member of our family, making our circle complete.
Fittingly, when I arrived home, I was met by these two, striking necklaces from dear friends.
Indeed, our family circle is whole now.
We've come full circle. Our circle is complete.

With the three kids--it would have been totally crazy to do a gotcha day for each. Since Chewie is our last (not my choice!), we've decided that the day he came home, April 3, will be our family day. Our family was whole on that day. I like the complete circle idea. Isn't it the truth--you feel complete. It's an indescribable feeling--but one I think most of us know.
I love that necklace! So is it "circle day?"
Lovely necklaces and sentiments!
I second JoJo's question... are you going to have a "circle" name for those days?
