About Steve.

I just wanted to share some incredible news that we got last night about Steve. If you're a former BeingBugsie reader, my friend or family member, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about.

Steve's best friend called last night. Typically, we touch base with one another every other week or so, and never on the weekend. When Dave and I saw the name "Ness" pop up on my cell phone on Sunday night at about 8:15, we were a little freaked out... expecting the worst.

Immediately, when I heard his voice, I knew that everything was okay. He was excited to call me, for once, with really, really incredible news.

This is what he told us:

Steve and Terri saw their doctor last week.

He called them in because, simply, he was surprised that Steve is doing as well as he has been, and he asked them if he could perform an MRI. Steve agreed.

Steve's tumor has shrunk. Significantly. He's physically well enough now to begin another course of treatment. Something proven for colon cancer patients that they are trying with brain cancer patients now, with some success. He won't have to travel. The side effects are manageable. Faith has been confirmed, hopes feel renewed.

When Emmett was baptised, Aunt Casey gave him this awesome book called Friend Jesus: Prayers for Children.

Weekly, Theo and I have been praying this prayer from Emmett's book:

For Those Who Are Sick

Healer God

let your Spirit watch over those who are

sick, especially Steve.

Help those who care for the sick everywhere:

relatives, doctors, nurses,
social workers (we added that part), and friends.

Give them a healing touch.

Picture in your mind the person for whom
you are praying.
Send your love and care to this person. Say:

May our voices bring comfort to the sick.

May our hands give loving care.

Brian told us that, medically, there is no explanation for what is happening inside of Steve's body right now. These tumors don't just shrink.

We believe in the power of prayers and are so thankful that so many people have been praying for this good man and his loving family.
