Sled Heads

I'm a solid week behind on blog posts. I'm also just as backlogged with housework. And Work work. And life, in general.

So I'd better get moving.

Last Monday Dave and I took all three boys sledding. This was a first. And definitely not a last. We had so much fun... most of us did, anyway.

Grumpy pants.

We learned that it is not easy to move three children and three sleds through thick snow, up a steep hill. This is how we traveled:

It was really a gorgeous day, a gorgeous weekend with two full days of a hoar frost. The trees, beautiful.

Rubin loved the ride. I have to admit that I freaked out, marginally, when he and Dave flew (not an exaggeration) down the snow hill the first time. Dave has an "oh crap Emily is going to kill me" look on his face in this photo, and Rubin sort of a "WEEEEEEEEE!" grin. They went up and down, up and down many, many times.

And then there was Theo. Such a big boy now. Straight over jumps, purposefully. Lightning fast. Check out the air beneath that snow disk!

What a blast!!! Man, I tried to look at Dave's "Emily's gonna kill me" expression, but apparently I'm elderly and can't see it. Better bust out my bifocals. ;)
What a fun, fun day you guys had.

Those are AWESOME photos! I can't see the "Emily is going to kill me" look either but I can *totally* imagine it. Hee hee. Rubin, I'm sure had a BLAST. Love that Theo could do it all by myself and how could you not adore Grumpy Pants?!

I could see the "E is gonng kill me look"...I clicked on the photo to make it larger. I also kind of looks like "Ooohhhh CRaaaaap!" like he got going faster than even he wanted. Funny.

Beautiful photos with the white from the snow & on the trees...contrasted by the bright colors of the sleds & clothing. Love it!

What a great series of photos! I do love the "grumpy pants" one a lot! That's pretty much how I feel anytime I'm out in the snow. Too cute!

The TREES!
GORGEOUS! Are you kidding me?!
Love the action shots.
The one of Dave and Rubin is hilarious.
We haven't had enough snow really to sled, can you believe it! I had hoped too...might still get the chance.

Now that looks like fun! The frosty trees are so beautiful - we had a few days like that recently from fog freezing on the trees - so pretty.
