Theo speaks.

Last night Theo and I were folding laundry in my bedroom, after his baby brothers were tucked into "bed." (I use that term loosely as, so far, Rubin refuses to sleep anywhere but on the floor...)

Theo was looking at some framed photos of Dave and I on our dresser. One of the pictures was of us together, pre-children, at my sister Casey's wedding. I was about 4 months pregnant with Theo at the time.

Theo asked me, "Are you and Papa married in this picture, Mama?" To which I replied, "Yes!"

He asked the next logical question. "Well, where am I?"

And I told him that he was in my tummy.

Always the caretaker, looking out for his baby brothers he asked, "Where is Emmett?"

I explained to him that Emmett hadn't been born when that photo was taken. I told him that Emmett wasn't even in my tummy, yet.

Theo said, "Oh, so he was waiting in Papa's tummy!"

(I didn't want to ask him where he thought Rubin was!!)

Too funny! I get questions like that alot too. They don't quite get the reference that they weren't in mommy's tummy--I think Julia does but the boys....
Ha--you have the floor problem too?? I can't tell you how many times I've had to deal with that with Chewie. It so depends on my mood if I'm going to haul him up on the bed or just make sure he is reasonably comfortable! I was all worried about it and Julie was just like--whatever he likes. Okey Dokey--then I won't worry!

Priceless. If only we could all see things so clearly. I love how kids say things. We have conversations like that too. Only, they also ask me who is in my tummy now...=-(

Out of the mouth of babes, huh?! Wonderful story!

And - are you telling me that Rubin is sleeping for you?! Am I the only AP not getting any decent sleep around here?! I'm about to be mighty depressed if that's the case...
