The weekend ends.

Dave is (finally) home.

Yesterday was a long day without him. The boys and I were mostly confined to the house, for fear of spreading our sick bug amongst the healthy.

We did make a quick trip to the Home Depot for a few more alium and tulip bulbs. And, I wanted to get one of those handy-dandy bulb-planting-hole-diggers (not an official term, I am sure.)

Theo was convinced that, since we were there, he needed to build something.

(You know, I don't think I ever wrote about our first kids' workshop at Home Depot on the first Saturday of this month. Theo and I built a cute little firetruck together. We'll definitely go back next weekend for another workshop. I think we'll be assembling a wooden flower press. If you're in the area and you've never done this, you really should come. We had so much fun!!)

Anyway...

In keeping with my resolution to get both of the boys some fresh air every day throughout the fall and winter months, I bundled them both up a couple of times this weekend and lead them outside. Yesterday, I wrapped them up in a quilt, tucked them into the wagon, and pulled them around the neighborhood for about an hour. I wound up with two boys buried by sticks, pine cones, leaves, weeds... You name it! I couldn't pass anything by without having to pick up two per my oldest son. One for him, and one for Emmett!

Last night we hit Blockbuster and Theo and I watched the Curious George movie together. I think it was his first actual feature-length flick! (He loves that little monkey.) We snuggled and ate popcorn together. It was pure bliss.

This morning he called me from his bedroom, shouting, "Come in here and give me a hug, you little fur-ball!" Hmmm... the instant effects of popular culture...

Today, we hit the purple park. Walking there was a bit of a challenge, as we were met head on with 60mph gale force winds (I've been known to exaggerate a bit, from time to time.) We were the only family there, and we had so much fun, playing hard. Emmett is walking more and more every day, and today he even navigated his way around the park, over the mulched up rubber, on foot! He is getting so big.

I can't wait to see what this week brings..
