theo: mama, how did the baby get into aunt casey's tummy?

(aunt casey with said baby, photo courtesy of lora)
me: well, mamas and papas make babies together and put them in the mama's tummy so that they can grow.
theo: oh. (pause.)
i get it!
aunt casey must have a baby Christmas cookie cutter.
and she cut the baby out and then she ate the dough! and now the baby is growing in her stomach... right?!
me: (silence.)
dave: that's right, buddy.
(we failed miserably, didn't we?)

oh boy. remind me to not let you teach my children anything when you're here. ;)
and by theo's methods, i'd have like a billion babies by now.
that's awesome. and don't worry - andrew thought that babies came out of a woman's foot. so apparently being vague meant something was lost in translation..oh well.
that is hysterical! and i'm not only cracking up at theo, but also at elizabeth's and yvonne's comments too! :)
ps...LOVE LOVE LOVE your christmas card! and be on the lookout for some treats! popped them in the mail last nite! :)
hi-larious! theo is a cutie, for sure!
hilarious! i love that he came to this conclusion all on his own! haha!
So funny! Thank you for the pick me up! Not looking forward to fielding so much more now that Ben is older. :( I like the cookie cutter theory, personally! Yvonne also cracked me up!
SO FUNNY! Dave's response is great. I love your boys.
HA! I love it. and i love other peoples stories in response just as much. this is hilarious.
Zeek keeps insisting there is more to the story then what we've let on.
I'm stickin' to my guns, though. And when I'm tired of reiterating that when moms and dads love each other they can make babies... I just stair blank and relentlessly repeat the word "love" over and over. eventually, he walks away.
I know he's not buying it, but at least he should be terrified of falling in love by the time he's ready. and that works for me.
Ooooh...I love this. It made me laugh. THANKS! :-) Kids are smart. Their ideas are just as creative, if not more than the "real deal." I remember when I figured out how it was really "done"...I liked my ideas better.
Oh, I really love Theo's version of things much more than the real thing! And I agree with Elizabeth...I'd have populated an entire village by now. Thanks for the giggle!
Casey looks adorable! And don't forget that there's always the amazingly illustrated book "Where Did I Come from?" to do all of your dirty work for you.
I love this! Theo version is so adorable!
I just snorted wine out my nose. Thank you, Theo. :-)
Hahaha!! Love it...
Much love,
Future Mama
