all by himself

rain most of the day today meant no trip to the park.

i can't tell you what a difference the warmer weather (and therefore more time spent outside) has made in my life.
(i also can't tell you why everything i'm writing tonight is underlined?)

anyway...

this winter, my first as a mama to three little boys, had plenty of trying times. it was not easy being all cooped up together most of the time. we are loving our wide open spaces once again. thoughts of all of the summer things we have to look forward to this year make me giddy.
today was rain on my parade.

when i woke up to the realization that my morning run was being washed out, i thought back to this group of photos that i took of rubin sometime last week or the week before. without much practice, he's already mastered these inverted monkey bars.
all by himself.
he's also not afraid to jump into the swimming pool, at 4 feet deep, without a floatie or grown-up arms to catch him.

which means that i won't be able to take my eyes off of him this summer.

(that's probably not going to be an issue...)

Oh my GOODNESS he's a big boy now! Wow. Can he get from the last rung to the platform? That's always Olive's hangup. You GO, little man!

WOW! To him being able to do that, and to how big he is! (If your rungs are the same distance as ours that is) I don't let S anywhere near those things yet!

And I can't even imagine three, being cooped up with one almost killed me.

I know what you mean about this warmer weather! It makes such a difference. Yay Rubin! I can't believe he climbed that by himself. What a big boy!

oh honey - I should have warned you about the pool a while ago so you could start to prepare yourself. 3 little boys under 5 (or under 4 as was the case for us last year) at the pool with only one parent to stand guard is a drowning hazard. Prepare yourself to spend hours standing in the middle of the baby pool counting kids, running from one end to the other to pull up sputtering, spitting children, and forget about making chit chat with any of the other parents stuck in pergatory (Brian calls it hell) with you. While the rest of the 2 children and under parents sip cocktails and enjoy watching their children delightly splash in the water, you get to be on full time high alert.

Have Fun!!

I'm right there with you. I'm so loving this warmer weather! Its always the youngest who gives the parent gray hair. Chewie is the climber, jumper and all around child that is going to give me a heart attack.

I know what you mean about the warmer weather. I've been saying that I have no idea what I had been missing this winter.

What a dare devil! I wouldn't let Alex near that part of the park on the weekend - he can do it I'm sure, but I'm not ready for that stress ;)
