big boys

we are finally getting around to transforming the bedroom in our house that theo and emmett share from "nursery" to "big boy room."

before rubin came home last year, i thought that he and theo would share a bedroom. i had no idea how long the jet-lag/grieving/confusion would last and, ultimately, what i thought would be certainly was not.

long story (which involves moving multiple beds multiple times between two rooms...) short, rubin has his own room now and theo and emmett share another. this room was theo's nursery when we moved here almost 4 years ago, and it has since housed nursery things and nursery colors.

when we had the basement painted a few weeks ago, we also lost the robin's egg blue in the boys' room, replacing it with timber wolf grey.

some awesome robot bedding from the land of n*d, an ets*y purchase (or two), some old-fashion snail mail from becca (you'll see what i mean soon) and beautiful artwork ala theodore later, we are well on our way to an incredible big boy room.

(and, yes, theo painted an afro on his robot. if you know me, you know that it took a lot for me to relinquish control and go with his flow. all said and done, it's truly groovy. thank you, lora, for the inspiration!!)

I have been thinking about this day at our house...what a big change! And how exciting too. Love the robot, love the grey, and love how excited Theo looks.

Wow - he did a great job with that robot!! How old is he again?
Love the sheets. When we move (by June 1st) into the house we are renting Jack will get his own big kid room and he want a dinosaur room. I may have to copy this fab idea!

Yea! I love it! The grey is great. and the BEDSET!!!

I hope you don't mind that Zeek's robots are not quite so symmetrical or well placed. I gave him the paint and the boxed canvas and LET HIM GO!
I'm sorry also that incidentally there is a "vacuum robot" on the bottom left who "stubbed his toe on an airplane robot and stuck his suction cup on him" therefore, looks a little disgruntled. :(

I tried to video record him telling the majority of the stories that go behind each scene for you. I missed some of it, but i'm sure he'll be glad to share them with you. :)

can't wait to visit!

Wow! That is one kick ass robot that Theo painted! I am totally impressed! And LOVE the sheets! I was holding onto a catalog with those sheets in it for the longest time and had wanted to get them for Noah when he gets older. Great choice!! :)
