Nothing but the truth.

there ya go, baby., originally uploaded by emilykps.

Exactly two months ago today I brought our baby boy home from South Korea. I can not believe how quickly time has passed. I know that in what will seem like the blink of an eye I will be writing, "Exactly one year ago today I brought our baby boy home from South Korea..."

My, oh my. Time certainly does fly.

In just two weeks I am headed back to work. I have to be honest and share that I am just as excited as I am anxious about my return. The last couple of weeks here have been draining, and oftentimes I think about how much less intense, less stressful my work (not conventionally "peaceful") away from home will be. I would be lying if I didn't write about the almost equal measures of joy and frustration, fulfillment and desperation that parenting these three boys has brought me in the past 9 weeks. And I find comfort (I'm sorry, but I do) knowing that those of you who are already parents and are reading this can relate to every single word that I write. What can I say? Misery loves company.

I couldn't help but share this photo of Emmett, because it perfectly sums up how we roll here, some days. It could have stood alone beautifully as a "Wordless Wednesday" post. But I needed to vent a bit, I needed to write down some of these words. After all, part of the reason I keep this blog is to help defer the cost of psychotherapy. And, after this past week, I've been feeling over due for some time on my "virtual" couch.

I can completely relate. After our 3rd was born and I was getting ready to go back to work, I told my husband (who would be staying home full-time with them), "I think my job is about to get a whole lot easier than your job." It's bittersweet having some time to your self (albeit working) but also missing out on the day-to-day fun and learning that they do. Hope the transition back goes well for you.

PS - Love this photo!

Hey! I always forget I'm private. rats...the downside of being paranoid.

Can you email me your email and I'll send you a request to read? I think that's the easiest way... Our email is banddbrown@comcast(dot)net.

Sorry about that - it must seem slightly stalkerish to be read by someone that you can't read back. thankfully you know I'm connected to Dana!

Oh, good luck with the transition back to work!! I'll be looking for updates on how that goes! (hint, hint)

Girl, I have to tell you, I don't know _how_ you do it. I'm struggling with ONE a lot of the time... One! Not three!

And a little part of me is happy to read these words... not because you are struggling... but because I had *no* idea! You seem to pull it all off so seamlessly - and I was really wondering _how_ you did it! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one struggling some days. (OK - I've got one and you have three which is another issue, but I think you get the point)

And this photo of Emmett actually made me snort wine up my nose. FYI - it's not that great a feeling. But the laugh was definitely needed so thank you!

Oh, Emmett!

So glad to hear that you're looking forward to heading back to work. If you wanted to stay home all day with the three boys I'd be a bit worried...Especially after staying in MI with Sara and Charlie and seeing that THERE ARE NO BREAKS FOR MOMS! It's a bit absurd. And in your honor I told Sara to bring Charlie up to our room when he wakes up tomorrow morning so that she can sleep in while we take care of him. She has expressed the same desire to get back to work as well. Will you be able to see Dave at all?
